I got my first camera when I was 8. I tried starting my first photography studio then too. I created flyers made with Crayola marker on lined notebook paper to hang them around the neighborhood. I remember a neighbor of mine was about to get married and I asked my mom, “Hey do you think Heidi already has a photographer?” to which my mom replied, “I think they’ll want to go with a professional.” I just stared at her thinking, “Didn’t you hear me, I’m starting a business, so I’m professional.”

Fast forward another eight years and I’m in a darkroom in my high school photography class. I finally got my first SLR- not pink- and found I loved, loved, loved the darkroom. There was just something about watching your images crystallize on paper and jamming out to a few tunes at the same time.

In college, I thought about being a photojournalist, an interior designer, a sports psychologist, a writer, a public relations specialist. How does one choose an occupation when there are so many things you want to do?  I’ve  gone down a few roads since I graduated almost 10 years ago (gulp!) But one thing is a constant, I love photography.

My style focuses on spontaneity. I love to catch those little hidden moments- the ones we’re usually too busy to notice. The best memories are the unexpected ones. Thank you for browsing through my site and blog. I hope you enjoy the images!.
